Our Mission & Heritage
Cawdor & West Nairnshire Community Council exists to represent and support the people of our local area, ensuring community voices are heard and reflected in decisions that affect daily life.
Rooted in the history and identity of Cawdor and the surrounding communities, the Community Council plays an active role in local matters, from planning and development to community wellbeing and connection. We work alongside residents, local organisations and public bodies to help shape a positive and sustainable future for the area.
Our focus is simple. Listen to the community, represent its views, and support initiatives that strengthen where we live.
The Community Council is made up of local volunteers who are committed to making a difference.

New Member Enquiry
Cawdor & West Nairnshire Community Council New Member Enquiry
Cawdor & West Nairnshire Community Council is made up of up to 9 members, with a small number taking on office bearer roles.
As a member, you would be invited to attend meetings throughout the year and take an interest in what’s happening locally. There are no huge expectations, you can contribute in a way that feels comfortable for you.
There is no pressure to speak in public. Some members prefer to listen and take things in, while others get more involved in discussions or specific topics.
If there are particular projects or areas that interest you, there may be opportunities to take a more active role, but only if and when it feels right for you.
Being part of the Community Council is a chance to have your say, support your local area, and help represent the views of the community in a fair and constructive way.
We welcome people from all backgrounds, no previous experience is needed.

Dulsie Wood Wind Farm Proposal – Community Feedback
There is a proposed wind farm development at Dulsie Wood, which is currently at the scoping stage. No planning application has been submitted at this time.
Public information events are expected to take place, giving residents the opportunity to find out more about the proposal.
This form is being used to gather early feedback from the community. Your views will help inform how Cawdor & West Nairnshire Community Council responds as the project develops.
This is not an official consultation response to the Highland Council, and any comments submitted here will not be treated as formal support or objection at this stage.
